Having closed the list a few days before the set close date
I gave myself, of course I find the days between the official start and the
official close are too much of a temptation so I seem to have entered the amend
and edit zone.
No, the list has not suddenly shrunk to one item over night
but reading through it this morning my eyes alighted on number five and I
marvelled at my excess of fantasy:0) That’s going to be one hell of a 48 hours
me thinks.
I looked at the venues, they are all places where I have
dined and even stayed in my ill spent youth, cough. But now the child is a
growed up lady, yep I am always creative when it comes to pigeon-holes and
me:0), and has the experience to really enjoy these places but also the
understanding that something simpler less openly opulent would be just grand
too. Also small matter of an income that even the government classes as below
the poverty line.
When I read number five, I picture places to luxuriate in
the décor, sit comfortably and feed slowly with unobtrusive service in an
atmosphere of calm delivery.
I found myself wondering if I can find a Vegetarian/Vegan alternative
experience in London or any city in UK for that
matter. Places that give sense of being equally ‘decadent’, venues that feed
the senses with rice Tofu and freshly baked artisan bread to name but a few
elements.
I think it would be rather fun to explore just how veggie
and vegan number fives’ places can be, how environmentally friendly are their
set ups. What’s their policy on waste, power, adding to their immediate neighbourhood
etc.
I feel a questionnaire coming on:0) Be interesting to see
how the obviously ‘alternative’ measure up against the obviously ‘decadent.’
If you are reading this and know of somewhere that would
give me a sensory vegetarian/vegan experience in the dining and staying stakes
that is in a city in UK
please leave a comment.
I want this item to be a city experience because I so rarely
visit such places for more than a flit in and out and I want to revel in the
architecture, the people watching as well as the staying and dining. London comes to mind because it is a city I
was once very familiar with but this morning realise I’d be open to any city
that comes with a recommendation, that can offer me gallery and craft shop,
fine food and soft beds:0)
(Just in case you didn’t find this blog through a link from
Asynchronous Process. I began to hatch
the list back in July and gave myself until 31st October 2008 to
complete it and then from 1st November 2008 until 31st October
2015 to do it)
