How To Knit a Poem

This afternoon I enjoyed a wonderful fifteen minutes of radio in the form of a programme called "How to Knit a Poem". For anyone interested in words or knitting it will delight, for anyone who is interested in either it will delight, for those thinking they have no interest in either I suspect it will delight. There was another delight for me it is a programme on BBC Radio 4 which has a habit of seemingly thinking that the whole of Britain talks with accent and mind set of the south east and more particularly London but here was a programme with a definite Welsh lilt to its tone. Funny how the familiar always makes one smile but it made me smile because there was much more I recognised and found thoughtful challenging and funny, not bad for a fifteen minute programme and there are four more to come this week which I will definitely be listening to.

Here's the brief blurb found on the BBC web site -
Poet Gwyneth Lewis looks at the links between knitting, poetry and the wider world.

I have to say it doesn't say the half of it, so here is a link to the page and the listen again facility which I think is available to the wider world. If you would like to know more about Gwyneth Lewis Bloodaxe Books is a good place to start here's a link to her page there

So want fifteen minutes of thoughtful, well crafted radio?, then got to the listen again facility and catch the other programmes this week at 15.45 to 16.00 each day (British Time)
